2011 Hot Stove Luncheon 1480 WCNS hosts a community luncheon featuring the appearance of Pittsburgh Pirates players, announcers and coaches, autographs and pictures, and Pirate trivia and prizes. Senior Lifestyle Show

senior show 1480 WCNS produces a spring Senor Lifestyle Show in the month of April. This one-day event includes business and organization exhibitors and their services and products, guest speakers, bingo, screenings and entertainment. Lunch is served at the event. Latrobe Area Relay for Life Cancer Awareness Benefit

This time-honored, early summer community event is held at the Latrobe Memorial Stadium in symbolic support of local, regional and national cancer victims and their families.

Community members volunteer to walk around the stadium for a 24-hour period backed by monetary pledges for this very worthy cause. Everyone is invited to join in the fun and support. Every game, activity and purchase made at the Relay for Life event benefits cancer research. 1480 WCNS is proud to be an integral part of this event with on-air and on-site presence and support.

Latrobe 4th of July Celebration

1480 WCNS is proudly featured in this Latrobe community parade held on the 4th of July. The station also broadcasts from the park midway, building excitement and featuring fun giveaways for children.

Italian Fest at Idlewild Park

1480 WCNS and the Columbus 500 Organization co-operatively sponsor this exciting mid-summer picnic at Idlewild Park. The picnic features Italian food and pastries and entertainment. The proceeds from this picnic are used for college scholarships to area students based on academics and heritage. Next event date to be announced.

Senior Day at the Westmoreland Fair

Every August, the Westmoreland Fair brings a week of fun and fellowship to our community. On the Wednesday of each annual fair, 1480 WCNS hosts an afternoon of activities especially for seniors including bingo, prizes and special entertainment. 1480 WCNS also broadcasts live on select evenings during the fair dates. Start Heart Walk

1480 WCNS is the media sponsor for this Westmoreland County Heart Association event held each September. Community members walk the Kennametal Campus walking trail to raise funds for heart research.

Health & Education Expo

1480 WCNS and the Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging present this October event at Four Points Hotel in Greensburg. The expo features exhibitors, vendors and activities especially for our senior community.

Delmont Apple 'N Arts Festival

1480 WCNS is the community voice of this fabulous annual fall festival held in October. The festival celebrates, of course, apples. . .and so much more. There’s food, arts & crafts, entertainment, demonstrations and lots of fun! Further information about the festival is available on www.InWestmoreland.com.

Santa's Party in the Park

Each year, 1480 WCNS brings Santa Claus to Latrobe on the Friday following Thanksgiving. Our community and listeners are cordially invited to bring their children and grandchildren to meet that jolly ol’ soul in downtown Latrobe. Refreshments and treat bags for the kids are provided by 1480 WCNS.
