1480 WCNS debuted on August 11, 1956, and is a full-service community
station broadcasting around the clock seven days a week.
WCNS has had
three owners. The current owners, John & Donna Longo, have
owned and operated the
station since January of 1989. Mr. Longo was honored with the
Pennsylvania Association of Broadcaster “2000 Broadcaster of the Year”
and the Pittsburgh Radio and Television club’s “Art Stein Award” for
exemplary service to the industry.
The station was recently honored
with the Latrobe Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.
