Pennsylvania Association of
Broadcasters recently honored WCNS with the 2014 "Outstanding Local
Radio Newscast" award. It's the second straight year WCNS has won the
distinction. WCNS' entry this year included coverage of last summer's
dramatic standoff along Lloyd Avenue, as well as the passing of legendary
Greater Latrobe Football Coach Chuck Findley in December.

Survey: Radio is the Dominant Listening Platform!
Radio, despite competition from digital music services, is still the dominant platform for listening to music, news and talk, research by MediaVest and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment has found. People turn to traditional radio more frequently than other platforms, with more than 50% of people in the U.S. tuning in every day, according to the report. "New outlets are not coming at a cost to traditional forms of consumption," said Clear Channel's Radha Subramanyam.
